Review: Botani Rescue Acne Cream

Hey there, first ever review coming up! I'm going to try and do as many Australian Products as possible. Its about time we put ourselves on the map a bit more!! I'll probably be doing alot of skin care products review as over the last few years my skin has become been pretty bad. So I had been trialling alot of different products.

This is a product which I have loved since the day I purchased it.

Its an Australian Made and Owned Company called Botani - http://www.botani.com.au/, who specialise in a range of natural skin care products.
This one is called Rescue Acne Cream and this was actually suggested by a dermatologist for a friend of my for acne treatment. It mainly uses herbal ingredients and is a spot treatment cream which you apply onto problematic areas. You can purchase this separately, or alternatively it also comes in a Skin Rescue Kit which includes a cleanser, moisturiser and the acne cream.

You can purchase this products from Priceline stores at $24.95 AUD in Australia and cheaper when they have specials, but you can also order it online from their website. Not sure if they do international shipping. But I have also seen this at skin care stands in the shopping centres too.

It is pretty expensive for this little tub, but its totally worth the money.

Here is a copy of the information given on the box:

It soothes inflamed red irritated lesions without aggravating surrounding healthy skin tissue. It may also be used after shaving to relieve minor skin irritations, inflammations and dryness associated with shaving.

I absolutely love this product to bits. Definitely watch out for a special to get this as it's totally worth it. Just beware that they have a short term best before date, as these are natural ingredients, so they can't stay good for too long. Although the tub is tiny, it lasts for ages as you don't need to use a lot, I've only used up less than half of the whole jar, and I've had it now for nearly a year!

All you need to do is use a clean cotton bud and dab a small amount of the cream over the problem area and you are done. It has a natural lemongrass scent and the texture is thick and green. Initially,  I was a bit turned off from the green, but I think it helped with the redness of the pimples.

I felt instant results when I used it. It helped reduce the redness and the inflammation around my pimples but it also helped me prevent further big breakouts. Such as if there was a pimple developing I would put it on and it somehow reduced the severity of the pimple that came out afterwards. Also any already formed pimples the product helped draw it out the icky yellow stuff as well as calmed the skin down...I know your not supposed to pop them but I'm got very tempted.. :P. The Vitamin E inside it helps with the healing and prevent too much scarring around the area.

I've got some before and after photos, during my time trialling it when I first got the product! Wow, you can see this was a while ago...meant to post this for ages...but never got around to it!

This was taken on 6/8/09 and the second on 7/8/09, none have been retouched, only re-sized. As you can see the massive pimple on my forehead cleared up really well the next day, as well as some on my cheek area. (Excuse the fact I'm in my PJs)

So, overall, I really like using this product, I don't use it as much these days as my skin has become calmer than what it was, but if I do get an occasional flare up of big ugly, sore pimples. Botani really helps in calming it down.

To be honest I only bought it today as it is quite expensive for such a small jar.
